Personal Information |
Jesse Obrand was born in Laguna Beach, California. In 1987, Jesse and his family moved to Telluride, Colorado. While in Telluride, Jesse excelled at basketball and soccer, and in his junior year of high school, was a 1st Team All State performer in both sports. Although Jesse loved living in the mountains, he longed to return to the beach and compete against better competition, on California’s bigger stage. After returning to Laguna Beach for his senior year, Jesse helped lead the 1999 LBHS basketball team to their first league championship in over 36 years and a #1 CIF playoff ranking.
After graduating from LBHS, Jesse went on to play Division 1 basketball at UC Irvine, where he was a member of UC Irvine’s 2002 Big West Conference Regular Season Championship team. While playing at UC Irvine, Jesse also received a Big West Conference Scholar/Athlete award for outstanding academic achievement during the basketball season.
Jesse surfs and continues to play basketball in his free time. In addition, Jesse also volunteers with the LBHS boy’s basketball team, coaching and teaching skill development. |
